Actually I put up the weekend events every Friday, not the other person you named.
On Friday I will put up a longer version of the list of events, but here are the most popular ones in connection with the Suncoast Grand Prix:
Sunday, 6/29 -- car show at Lakewood Ranch's Main Street
Thursday, 7/03 -- Festival Parade of Boats down Sarasota's Main street, starts 7 pm. There's also a big Boats by the Bay Block Party at Orange & Pineapple in downtown Sarasota 5 pm to midnight. Lots of vendors, food, live music and the big powerboats end up there after the parade to be on display.
Friday, 7/04 -- lots of fireworks going off in the area, Sarasota's will be at the bayfront starting at around 9 pm. Will post others on Friday.
Saturday, 7/05 -- lots of things going on at Centennial Park by the bayfront.
Powerboats by the Bay 11 am - 7 pm. See the boats and teams up close. Live music, food and drink vendors.
Bikini Contest 3 - 4:30 pm
the Motorcycle Freedom Run ends up at Centennial Park around 2 pm, with big bike show starting around 2
Also on Saturday, meet & greet the drivers at the Hyatt, 10:30 am - 12 noon. Free for 12 & under, adults $5. Drivers will be there to give out autographs, take photos with fans.

No, the best way to find out what is going on is to wait for Sunshine's weekly things to do thread, which details EVERYTHING going on, and doesnt require paying for a newspaper with half of the information.
