Hi Luby162,

Welcome to our area. If this is your first winter in the Sarasota area, you will probably be pleasantly surprised by the number of special events and activities going on each weekend once we hit late fall. The fall - winter - early spring is when the calendar is full of things to do. Many are either free or at little expense to attend, and the variety of events is good. I love winters here.

Thanks Diane,
Yes this will be our first winter here, we just arrived mid August. We did go to First Friday on main and had a really good time, it actually was a bit on the cool side once the sun went down... Met a bunch of our new neighbors with their kids their, was great... all the kids were playing together while we were just standing around talking to all the other parents...was exactly what we relocated here for, oh, and the weather of course !!! Thanks again for all your suggestions and was wondering if there is a good website for us to find all the activities that are going on ?? Captiva bound this weekend !!!
