Thank you....you enjoy your new home too! There will always be "what if's" no matter where you go.....whatever makes you feel safe and secure. I have 2 small dogs myself and feel they don't help matters any as everytime they bark....it scares me and you find out they are barking at their own reflection in the glass door etc. Guns are scary and I think I would feel less safe having one in my home. If someone is going to break in to my house when I am there......they are not to scared of anything and I don't think guns or dogs are going to help. Pick a nice neighborhood and they will all report suspicious activity in the area. That will keep you and your family safe...just look in to the community before you buy there. Have fun!

To funnY!! I hear you about no more pellets.....yippie!! We also cannot wait to make the big move, no more snow and cold. (say-la-V!) I am so glad to hear you are checking the city out tomorrow......great idea! It will help you so much with your decision! If you find a good area, the gated communities will not matter as much I am sure and, you will see where the good and bad area's are "in person". Have fun....enjoy the sunshine!!!! I am jelous!!

thanx!!!!
it looks like were going to have some rainy weather while were there but still ill take 70 ish degrees! im hopeing the skys will beam sunshine and the weather is wrong.
it wont matter so much about the rain, it will be a good day to drive around and see some stuff and not feel bad about the beach. lol.
everything happens for a reason.
so, are u finding it hard to leave family and friends? it is a huge and hard decision and im always finding people trying to change my mind and make me feel bad in our decision. esp my grandmother who has lived in the same town her whole 86yrs.
i hate leaving her and not haveing her see my children on a reg basis. plus she is starting to need help but wont take it.
its such a hard time to leave but the absolute right time for us.
i have to look at it this way, its our turn to live our lives and do whats best for our family.
the more people i talk to the more people i find want to or are moveing south.
it will all settle once were there. we can always go back to visit pelletville!

I understand all you are saying. We have had some friends tell us how hard it will be for us to leave....and it will be so hard for us to leave them too. Hard for Grandma to leave the kids too (very) but...we have always wanted to move south to warmer weather...we are so happy there. We look at it this way....if we do not move now, our kids will grow up and have family's of their own and we will NEVER move because we will not want to miss out on our grandchildren (I'm only 34 but...it will happen). If we do not move now, our kids will not move with us once they grow up and that is a sad thought too. As much as we hate to move them....I hate the thought even more of not having them in the same state as us when we are old. We do have a ton of support at the same time. People are telling us, you only live once...you are very fortunate to be able to do this! They say we are only an email or phone call away at all times and they are excited to have a warm place to visit in the cold winter months It will be a hard move, I don't deny that one at all.....going from a small town and knowing everyone to not knowing anyone but our realtor. ((yikes!)) We can do it....we LOVE the sunshine, it makes people so happy! I heard also there is going to be rain but...I am sure it will not be a washout, it is the sunshine state ha-ha
Have a good time.....let me know what you find out when you are there, I am curious what you will think of the gated/not gated etc!! Have fun!

i will do that..
i am soo excited. leaving in an hour for the airport! as its pouring and freezing and dreary. i feel so sad for my husband and other little one (3) who are staying home. but this trip is business. lol.
we are feeling the same about starting a new life while the girls are young and we can get some roots. we dont want them to get too comfortable here.
just think of all the people we have to meet! i am just so sad for my grandmother, yesterday, my littlest one gave her a big hug and kiss and another big hug and said i love you noni! she looked all choked up. thats hard.
and yes, i am so tired of all the grumpy people in ct. well, i do come across some on this forum too from florida. but like alot say, they are most likely origionally from somewhere else. i just know i love it where its warm and sunny. and near water. here we travel 2 hrs to "the beach" in rhode island, nothing like a florida beach.
ok, im off!
nice chatting with you!
