If you have to get lower, I'd suspect you have insulation problems. check your attics.

Our house is only 8 years old and is pretty efficient.

The thermostat is kept at 81 and it's plenty cool especially if the ceiling fans are on.

As a result, electric bills rarely exceed $60.00 per month.

A thermostat set at 72-76 would be a freezer with meat hanging in it.

78 during the day and 74 at night. Our lanai slider gets fogged up, but the regular windows do not.

Thankyou for the info everyone. Past owners had new shingle roof in 2012, new fan and blown 8 inches insulation in attic.
