Women don't need to sign up to a website to be drooled over and hit on by men. They already have places for this. It's called "everywhere".

True, but maybe women don't liked being "drooled over." You can't pick and choose who does the drooling.

Excuse me but the words "cheat or cheating" don't explain the website? Those that sign up are intending to cheat on their spouse. They swore a vow when they got married and now they want to date another person(s)? Sheeesh. Guess if I was a divorce attorney I might wonder how to get hold of that list - could be lucrative hehehehe

You would not want people in positions of security or power leaving themselves open to potential blackmailing.
The only people who should be exposed are the hypocrites who preach religion, abstinence and the sanctity of marriage. For example, if Rick Santorum was a member, it would be very amusing. I'm not quite sure who Josh Duggar is (or care) but I understand he's one of those hypocrites.

Regarding the military, unless someone shared confidential information, why would that matter? If you're thinking about General Petraeus, he leaked classified information to his biographer who was also his mistress. The FBI seized 8 binders filled with classified material. So what if someone is a judge and has an affair? Unless it's with someone whose case he is presiding over, why would that make a difference?

Okay, I understand the blackmailing part, but people should be condemning the hackers, not vilifying people who joined a website. This isn't about kiddie porn or sex slaves. This is about 2 consenting adults who chatted or wrote to each other. Nobody knows exactly what happened between them. Stupid? Maybe. But that's not a crime.

There's an element in today's political atmosphere that wants to impose restrictions on American citizens. The same groups think we should all buy guns and ammo. It's that "let's point our fingers at.." attitude that has piqued so much interest in this scandal.

If you were an attorney, you'd know that joining a web site is not proof of anything. This isn't kiddie porn.

I am in no way condoning adultery, but people have a right to join web sites without their names being published, possibly destroying their lives. You have no idea if some of these people were in bad marriages and just wanted to chat with others in similar situations. I try not to judge. Again, if these were people looking for underage girls or boys, I'd say "string 'em up" but they're not.

Again, the biggest issue is that it is mostly a SCAM SITE. Yes, people can do what they want, but this site is promising hookups and not delivering (no real women available there)

My point about women not needing a site like this is that if a woman wants to cheat, she can usually find someone willing, and it will be someone she has some sort of connection or attraction to. Men are the ones who have a harder time of it, this site is living proof.

Oh Nancy Nancy.

Human beings are not perfect. What you call "preaching", probably because you cannot or do not want to live up to higher standards, others call something else.

As far as politics, this forum mimics it quite well. Those with differing opinions must be silenced. Guess who's doing the silencing? The left.

I suppose you prefer to be unarmed when you or a family member are threatened with a gun by someone who isn't in our country legally?

When I was married, I didn't think about cheating. Of course, that was around the time the wheel was invented, so I didn't explore the possibilities on the internet. Men always approached me when I was young. They still do, but they're usually on oxygen or watch the Weather Channel for excitement. The good thing is that we're all too old to remember anything that happened the night before.

Seriously, I think people are very misled about why people join websites to meet people. The subject site is for cheating, which is entirely different, but that doesn't mean men (or women) don't lie on other dating sites, or even in church.

Anyway, you're right gypsychic. The main issue here is that it was a scam. However, many people are responding to this scandal as if cheating (or thinking about it) is something new or rare.

This is too funny. You have no idea how far off you are, but I will not defend my sense of morality.

I guess I shouldn't have mentioned politics..wrong forum. However, I will say that if I were threatened by an intruder, I honestly wouldn't care if he had a green card. I was a victim of a very serious crime and he was White, a Harvard graduate and..well, that's enough.

Speaking of "the left" Fox had an interesting article on why men cheat a few years back.

My guess - and, of course, this is a guess since I am male - is that young and attractive women (married or not) who desire sexual partners don't need to sign up on web sites.

Am I right?
In my opinion the Ashley Madison site is bogus.

What is not bogus are the countless sugar daddy websites.

If you do not yet know, sugar daddy sites are for old rich men to get young prostitutes under the guise of it being an "arrangement", where the "daddies" pay them anywhere from 1K up to 10K per month salary, to be their dates.

The school systems are involved too because they wave the high fees (hundred of dollars) of being a member for girls with email accounts ending in ".edu".

I see sugar daddy relationships in downtown Sarasota so much lately. It's sad. So you have a generation of young men totally missing out on intimate relationships with women my age with fresh bodies. The young men end up dating "cougars" and old women.

Anyways, this is Sarasota, and generally women do not get hit on anywhere near as much as they act. These women watch too much reality TV shows that are filmed in bigger cities that are much more fertile environments for young people to form relationships.

I am 23 years old, petite, and I am not seeing a fun place for people in my age group. It is hard to describe. I met my boyfriend here but he is not a doctor or a lawyer. He has no money. Only the old men have money here.

The young women here in Sarasota are sort of prudish and not open to talking with available men the way it works in cities like Tampa and Orlando. The females are not easy gong at all. Here in Sarasota I get away with being a lot more mean to just downright dismissive and nasty.
