October is here, bringing lots of festivals involving pumpkins and beer.
There's lots going on this weekend in the Bradenton - Sarasota - Venice area, including the following events:
FRIDAY
Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch's Main Street -- live music, activities for families, 6 - 9 pm. Bring your pet on short leash.
Live from Downtown Sarasota It's Friday Night -- local performers 6 - 9 pm, at corner of Main & Five Points Park this week.

Venice Consumer Expo -- free health screenings, various vendors and businesses participating, 9 am - 3 pm, Venice Community Center.
FRIDAY - SUNDAY
Oktoberfest -- at Motorworks Brewing, 1014 9th St W in Bradenton. Outdoor beer garden, food trucks, 5 pm Yodeling Competition, 7 pm Lederhosen Contest.
Gem, Jewelry & Bead Show -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm, $4/person.
SATURDAY
Bradenton Farmers Market kicks off it's "winter" season, 9 am - 2 pm, downtown Bradenton at 12th Ave W.
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown Sarasota at Lemon, 7 am - 1 pm.
Venice Farmers Market -- downtown Venice 8 am - noon.
Native Plant Sale -- native plants, trees and wildflowers for sale at Sweet Bay Nursery in Parrish 9 am - 3 pm.
G T Bray Rec Center celebrates it's 5th Anniversary with a party -- free to the public, 10 am - 2 pm, fitness classes, contests, pool games, etc.
Venice Craft Beer Festival -- craft beers, German wines, music, food vendors, 2 - 6 pm, $30/person at the gate. Island Time Spirits, 421 S. Trail.
Beer, Bands & BBQ -- big event at the Lakewood Ranch Polo Club grounds, tickets $15/person or $85/person for VIP. 1 - 8 pm. Beer, food vendors, live music. Kids corner.
Lances Cruzin to the Hop Car Show -- Hooters in Sarasota, corner US41 & Clark, 6 - 9 pm.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Taste of Manatee -- big event featuring food, live music, arts & crafts, big screen TVs for sports game watching, Sunday Corvette car show. Saturday evening performance by Sam Woolf, American Idol finalist. Sat 11 am - 10 pm, Sun 12 - 7 pm at Sutton Park in Palmetto. Free admission.
Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest -- great event for the little ones & young at heart. Hay & pony rides, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, food vendors, great way to celebrate fall. 10 am - 5 pm, free admission. East of I75 at 7410 Fruitville Rd.
SUNDAY
Venice AACA Antique Collector Car Show -- Centennial Park 8 am - 3 pm, free admission, very popular event each year.
Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Went to First Friday on Main last night, was packed !!! tons of fun... and going to Beer, Bands and BBQ later today, siesta tomorrow !!!!! Love this place and thanks again for posting all this stuff for us all !!!!!
