Good for them!

Yeah...as much as I may talk about carrying a gun I probably never will. Now a Taser....that's a different issue. I wouldn't mind zapping trouble makers around me LOL.

Yeah...I said that tongue in cheek type of thing. I didn't really mean that I would Taser a clerk at the convenience store who was rude or the rough looking panhandler coming up to me and asking me for money.

I'd probably never use the thing...though I might sorta brandish it a bit. You know...eye it and polish it off while talking to a rough looking dude (or should I add gal these days ).

Or move my hip around to the front and girate it a bit to make sure they see it on me type of thing LOL.

Carlos

Default Not so Bad

After living in Sarasota, nicer but only minutes away,economy/job sent me to Bradenton, (Bradenton is not eye candy!) we live in a home on West side on a creek with a great backyard...we go to the beaches or boating (not fancy boat) in free time and joke that we live in Paradise. Still one of the cheapest places to live...having spent time in the cold and snow, I am pretty content. We are a teacher and social worker...we'd rather spend our money on leisure and travel!

To be honest, I would not want to live in Bradenton, unless it was on the northwest side. Closer to Anna Maria Island. I lived in Parrish for 5 years and worked in Bradeton, off of Manatee Avenue, for 4 1/2 years. I did not like Bradenton at all. It was very dirty! Also, the crime rate was very high there.

I did love Parrish, and also LOVED Anna Maria Island, but was glad that I did not live in Bradenton.

And even the Northwest side of Bradenton is starting to see more crime. I would suggest just staying out of Bradenton!!

Bradenton is not the safest place in the world but its not as dangerous as say Orlando or West Palm Beach.

I'm still waiting for all this "crime" to happen to me.

And I walk to the places I go, or ride a bus. I don't like driving...and see no need to do so.

I'm from Orlando, and I feel safer in Orlando at times than I do here in Bradenton!

Bradenton is a great place to live for some enjoy the convenience of the beaches, parks, boating, etc. We have some folks that totally dispise Bradenton and so be it, they can live elsewhere. There are some Bradenton folks who enjoy Bradenton as myself. Don't believe everthing you here.

I would choose Bradenton over Orlando anyday.
