Sorry, if one cannot afford this area, then one is doing something wrong.

This is one of the most affordable places in South Fla.

jay2007 is on a distinguished road
Most widows who were married 30-40-50 years and raised a family, retire on 75% of thier husbands social security income. 75% of an already (according to our federal government) below poverty level income. The majority of seniors and retirees in America live below the poverty level.

And yes I agree, women who raised families and took care of thier late husbands and raised thier children to be decent human beings and were good caregivers DID do something wrong.

These woman SHOULD have gotten careers, (sadly that was not a realistic option 40 years ago) dumped fast junk food fed wild ADHD kids into daycare at taxpayers expense, fed thier husband bad junk food and tv dinners, and dumped any sick family into a nursing home for the state and taxpayer to care for at $24,000 to $36,000, and more, a year.

Decent people, caregivers in our sick society get no credit, no pay, no reward. In this sick greedy society good mothers are not even recognized for the job they do of creating and raising decent human beings.
So yes women did do something wrong, they were DECENT to thier husbands and children and ill parents and relatives.

I guess (in the capitalists view) more women should be Liz Taylor and divorce 7 times or be black widows and insure for cash payouts every new husband dupe they marry and bury.

And according to capitalist for profit planning, women should dump kids in state taxpayer paid for daycare and let the state and taxpayers feed and raise the kids. Why cook 3 meals a day and put 9 pairs of shoes and socks on 3 little kids feet every day for years and care give for 18 years to raise decent kids when there is NO FINANCIAL REWARD IN IT????? And why care for a sick husband or sick kids or sick parents or sick relatives for 30, 40, 50 years.
According to money grubbing captalistic pigs that does not make good MONEY SENSE. Women should dump sick kids and sick husbands and sick relatives in state taxpayer paid for homes and in state and taxpayer funded nursing homes and make the state and taxpayers support sick husbands, sick parents, sick relatives and sick kids. Then unshackled by ZERO PAY caregiver duty, woman can make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for themselves in a cash payout career.

Now a days women divorce and throw sick kids and sick husbands and sick parents in state taxpayer paid for institutions and are financially UNBURDENED by caregiver roles. Women today can charge $50 an hour for nursing or care giving. Now that, according to the money grubbing inflators would be the SMART money thing to do. Sadly women like people of color were OPPRESSED and did not have the freedom to be money grubbing capitalist pigs like the white males were.

So price gouger towns like sarasota are all going bust, sarasota is deluded and dreaming that the poor old retirees and poor families are rich, and sarasota continues to overprice its units, inflate taxes and inflate hoa fees, and now this last 3 weeks alone, over 1000 more sarasota homes condo's and manufactured homes went into foreclosures sit vacant and are listed on trulia.com

Try living as a retiree on 75% of poverty level income and see how fast you run from sarasota price gougers. Try raising a family with no decent pay jobs in sarasota, or most of florida for that matter. The inflators can not get blood out of stones. So the housing units in sarasota sit vacant and depreciate. Much like half of all miami's high rises sit vacant.

And yes I agree caregivers did do something wrong, they should have dumped thier non cost effective mates and kids and ill parents and ill relatives onto the taxpayers shoulders. Then financially speaking they would have done something right. And they too could retire and OVERPAY or PRICE GOUGE as fat captialistic pigs do, like some capitalist american men, who put money above people all thier lives.

Oh yes, there are always those poor retired veterans living on VA pensions that even our own federal government declares are below poverty level. Are the inflators and price gougers going to rob those guys for exxtra inflated home pricing and hoa fees and do inflated price gouging flippers and greedy landowners and sellers think they can get blood out of those turnips? Sorry, overpriced developers and overpriced sellers and overpriced renters are irrational and dreaming. They need to re read demographic and income reports. Deluded people only understand CONSEQUENCES, and when they see ZERO rent income every month and ZERO willing to buy and overpay, then they will correct thier pices or sit vacant.
Signed,
a socialist

disagree----men have been doing this for ages----i know==i've been there!.

So price gouger towns like sarasota are all going bust, sarasota is deluded and dreaming that the poor old retirees and poor families are rich, and sarasota continues to overprice its units

that is the only reason i left

this is happening in pa---also

here in pa that is what's happening---sometimes these flippers and realtors rent these dumps to section 8 people and get an overly inflated rate

maybe i'm becoming a socialist too!]

Your housing should ONLY cost 30% of your salary. For most people, that's unattainable.

(Sending you peace/love)....but, that 30% figure....sorry dude, but it's WAY outdated for the world we currently inhabit. It's like a '50's equation.

Gas is now hovering between $3.40-$5.00 depending upon which part of the country you fill your tank, health insurance for a family (2 people plus maybe one child) in the $350 range per month, and almost everything in a supermarket averaging out to $4.99 an item, you think one's mortgage or rent is going to be 30% of their income....not even. It's a jungle outside your living room window. I hear a blip from the news yesterday about people pawning at the pawn shop to pay to fill up their gas tanks; salaries, if you even have one, are not keeping up with the cost of fuel, obviously....where do you think that's going to leave the average joe?....with a weak cup of coffee.

Default Cost of Living

Yes, all good points. Keep in mind that milk, eggs, all goods are going to keep going up due to the rise in Gasoline price, causes shipping companies to raise their price, and on down the line it goes. God forbid your driving a diesel. My employer typically pays increases around 3% or less per year, once a year, and he says that's a cost of living increase. He's not even keeping up with inflation. Add to that, weary investors pulling money out, a crashing (crashed) housing market, a looming recession, and it's easy to see why this is happening. I would think though, that landlords would want SOME money as opposed to letting a place sit vacant, but if you look at craigslist for the area there are more and more rentals being added, and some of the same rentals have been reposted for six months or more and the rent asking price hasn't changed? Good Luck. It's a beautiful place to live, and I grew up here, but there isn't a lot to be optimistic about right at the moment.
I will, however, HAVE to keep a positive attitude that things can and will change eventually!

That was what my college professor indicated. Ten years ago it was laughable too. More like 75% of your salary goes to housing, here in Florida.

Socialism sucks by the way. If you want all the benefits that you talk of move to Canada. Wait, you will surely ***** about the taxes there because they are astronomical.

Funny we are looking to move to the Sarasota area possibly or somewhere between Duneidin and Bonita Springs. We are not rich but comfortable and feel that we will do just fine there thank you.

I am a pessimist who is usually in a bad mood. mod cut
