Default Builders in Charlotte-Sarasota County

We are interested in buying a larger house in the area ( we own a home in Port Charlotte ) We recently found a 2 listings that have almost perfect ( for us ) set up and room dimensions. One of the houses we missed buying and the people with the other listing are just way out of line with their asking price.

The realtor we are using ( who is a poster here BTW, PM me for details ) is top notch and she has sent us other listings that we will also go thru in the next few days so this request for information might be old by then

Anyway, we really do like these places and would consider building if the costs are not totally out of synch with what a resale would cost us. We noticed that Adams homes for example is advertising $70 bucks a sq ft which is in line with what we would like to do. Firstly do you all believe this number, and also do you have words of advice, information, experiences with building here?

Would you consider it an option or would you just keep looking and find another place like the ones that turn us on? Surely if they are not listed today, they might be tomorrow?

What say you?

Thank you

fl1025 is on a distinguished road
I found Adams to be reputable and very infromative. However I did not want to build in NorthPort.

Mind if I ask why not?

We spotted a pair of lots in a place other than northport too. But we could be interested in NP. Depends on the block, neighborhood etc.
