We love seeing the sandhill cranes come around but now a pair has taken to pecking through our lanai screening leaving holes.

Any for a screen material more impervious to this damage? I think we are screened with the cheap, typical stuff. Is there anything stronger - crane proof o that cannot be as easily chewed/pecked through?

Thanks in advance!SaveSave

Your not feeding them or any other birds/animals and you're not leaving any food out... correct?

Bird feeders on the other side of the house. I was reading on some Florida Wildlife sites that we should remove them for a bit.

Sounds like a great start
I get wanting to feed the birds but you're really doing them a disservice for many reasons and it's coming back to bite you too.

Rescreen with "Super Screen." We did this a few years ago and that stuff is STRONG! Nothing makes holes in it, not even our cats climbing it with their claws! It's a bit expensive, but I tell you it is worth it, you will never have to rescreen again.

SUPER SCREEN The Only Indestructible Screen Mesh. 10 yr Warranty.

Our neighbors had issues with night herons, no bird feeders around. Just lizards hanging about getting snatched up.

They have stopped pecking away and we will do a few repairs with Gulf Coast Rescreening who came by and gave some advice

Seems to be better now.
