Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area:
FRIDAY
Music on Main -- Lakewood Ranch's Main street hosts a a street party, kids activities, food vendors, live music. 6 - 9 pm.
Free Moonlight Movies -- at Siesta Key Beach, 6 - 9 pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY
Festival of the Skeletons in honor of Day of the Dead (Diade Los Muertos) -- Gregg Allman tribute concert Friday 7 pm, event runs Fri 6 - 10 pm, Sat 11 am - 4 pm. Food & beer vendors, skeletons, music. Bradenton's Village of the Arts.
FRIDAY - SUNDAY
Sarasota Boat Expo -- at the Robarts Arena, Sarasota county fairgrounds. Fri & Sat 10 am - 6 pm, Sun 10 am - 5 pm. $5/adult, ages 12 & under get in free.
Gem, Jewelry & Bead Show -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm each day. Adults $5.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- old Main Street in downtown Bradenton, 8 am - 2 pm.
Ferrari's at St. Armand's car show -- 10 am - 4 pm, free admission.
Gulf Coast Fall Family Festival -- games, kids workshop, tree climbing, boat rides, arts & crafts. 11 am - 3 pm, Bay Preserve, 400 Palmetto Ave in Osprey.
Beer, Boats & Bacon Fest -- over 60 craft beers & bacon to sample, other food vendors, live music. Tickets range from $15 - $75, $5 parking, 2 - 6 pm, Nathan Benderson Park.
Hispanic Fall Festival -- music, food, dancing. Free admission, 10 am - 6 pm, St. Jude's Catholic Church, 3930 17th St in Sarasota.
Sandblast Sculpting Competition -- Anna Maria Island at the Manatee public beach, 9 am - 2 pm.
Mullet Smoke-off -- mullet smoking competition, mullet toss, live music, arts & crafts, mullet & other food vendors. 10:30 am - 6 pm, free admission. Seabreeze Park on Terra Ceia Island, north Manatee county.
Taste of Manatee -- food provided by local restaurants, live music, arts & crafts. Riverwalk Park in downtown Bradenton, 11 am - 8 pm. Free admission.
Taste of Mixon's -- free samples of products for sale in their store, wine tastings. 11 am - 2 pm, 2525 27th St E, Bradenton.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Sarasota Medieval Fair -- jousting, music, ye ole turkey leg & ale for sale, 75 daily shows/performances, artisan marketplace. Robarts Arena at the Sarasota county fairgrounds. 10 am - 5:30 pm each day. Adults $17.95, students/seniors $15.95, children 5 - 12 $8.95
Venice Art Fest -- over 150 artists displaying items for sale. 10 am - 5 pm, downtown Venice on Venice Ave.
SUNDAY
Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm
Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm
Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.
Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).
