I will be moving to Sarasota with a friend who already lives in the area. With rent being high I am looking to purchase a mobile home. Are there any mobile park communities with no hoa fees or very low fees? I am 22 and I would like to spend no more than 50-60k. Is this possible in the sarasota area?

Few mobile home parks in Sarasota and many of those are age restricted to 55+. You might have better luck looking for inexpensive mobile homes/parks in Bradenton. However, if you own the mobile home but rent the lot, you will find the monthly lot rental rates rather expensive for what you get.

Would not recommend. I can't think of anything in Bradenton not 55+ that isn't disgusting, to be frank. Pretty much all of the parks on 14th, the one on 26th & Cortez, etc. are all full of dilapidated old trailers half rotted into the ground with piles of junk in front of them.

OP, you can find cheap apartments here if that is something you'd consider. Just takes some searching. What is your budget?

Monthly budget would be ideally $900 however I have not saw anything under $1000. I am thinking a more reasonable price to purchase a home would be 100-150k? I wouldn't mind renting at first if I was able to find somewhere reasonable but would rather purchase if I could find a nice area and spend no more than 150. Thank you for your response also. I had looked at Bradenton and thought the same about the quality of the parks.

Even the smallest, older 2 bedroom/1 bath homes are now starting at or above $150,000 in our area. You might find something in south Venice or the older part of North Port if you don't mind the commute. Many of the homes in that price range get snapped up within the first couple of days on the market by investors looking for inexpensive rental properties.

I've lived in South Venice for quite awhile and just sold a small home there for $180,000. Not much in Venice anymore in that price range. I wouldn't trust a mobile home here. Even though many survived hurricane Irma I sure wouldn't bank on that in the future. North Port or Port Charlotte would offer you more affordable housing.
