I know some people have maybe been complaining about the cooler temps lately--but could be worse-

We called our friend who helps watch our TX house-
The temps are going down to 10 or maybe lower tonight in DFW area
She went over w/her son in law and opened the cabinets w/water pipes and set sinks and bathtubs to drip---
Have a sink in our garage and set it to drip as well

Husband thought we would have been ok w/o doing that but neighbors on both sides said they were going to do theirs...

I know when people leave homes up north where temps get much lower for longer they "winterize" but he always resists doing something that stringent

I've been looking at the forecast for tonight in Sarasota County - and some are calling for a low of 32 - while others are saying 31. One I saw just said "mid-thirties". I imagine the temperature will be a bit colder further inland compared to close to the Gulf. My main concern is my Areca palm trees. I talked to a friend and he said it could be a good idea to cover them with bed sheets. He said don't use plastic. I think if it just gets down to 32 for a relatively short time my Areca palms should be OK. They are not fully mature yet - only about 5-6 ft. tall. I planted them two years ago.

Yes-sheets-something that allows air transfer is better than plastic that traps it

Might water them as well if you haven't in while
