I think there are better deals with preowned homes right now. Most of the builders can't compete with the foreclosed homes on the market.

I used to work in the jail in Sarasota county and believe me there are plenty of sexual predators there(in Sarasota) as well--they're everywhere.

Take sensible precautions and watch your children and hopefully this kind of thing will happen less frequently.

Never said that she was killed by a pedophile. I said that she was kidnapped, raped and murdered in broad daylight.
If you want to get technical, even though he wasn't classified as a pedophile before this happened, I would say raping a twelve year old girl would be enough to classify him as one now.

Just making the point that this kind of thing can happen anywhere--North Port, Sarasota, etc.

Venice has grown some but mostly it is still an "older" town. Some prefer that. Visit the grocery store and count how many people you see under 70. Be fair and visit after 5 pm so any younger people would be off of work.
Venice beach is very nice and there is shopping along and behind Venice Ave. go and check out Sharkys on the Pier. Try "The Crows nest" restaurant at the south jetty, jetty is a good viewing area too. Hold tight to children though.

I live less than 1 mile from her home and there are seven sexual predators with a one mile radius from my/her home. It's the exact same amount as when she was murdered. Go to Florida Department of Law Enforcement website-click on Offender Search-then click on neighborhood search-then standard-type in Calabash Rd (Coral Roses' street)- zip is 34286-you'll find seven within a one mile radius. I like to look at facts not pull things out of thin air

Go pull up any other neighborhood in Sarasota county (except maybe the million dollar neighborhoods). You'll find the same thing. There are many sexual predators IN Florida. As I said before, North Port has one of the LOWEST sexual predator ratio per person of any city in Florida. Much lower than the city of Sarasota and most other cities in Florida. Yes, there are many, many neighborhoods in the Sarasota area that have many more sexual predators per square mile than North Port.

I compared over 500 neighborhoods in Florida using City Data population estimates and the FDLE website comparing how many predators per person population. I posted many of the cities on a previous post on City Data. The information is right there for you to pull up.

Let's use Hillview St in Sarasota-many very wealthy people live on or around this street-22 sexual predators live within a one mile radius.

Moving on to Countryplace Blvd, an average Sarasota neighborhood- running in the middle of Beneva, Proctor, Clark and McIntosh-10 sexual predators within a mile.

OK take Wood St-which has some good areas and some that aren't as good-71 sexual predators in a one mile radius.

Arch Dr in Sarasota-Sarasota Springs-11 sexual predators per square mile.

Brookhaven Dr where many Amish people live-pleasant neighborhood-in Sarasota, around Fruitville & Tuttle-15 sexual predators per square mile.

Run a few streets for yourself and see what you come up with. If they are not in neighborhoods like-Hi Hat Ranch, The Founders Club, etc. Almost guaranteed there will be more sexual predators per square mile than most anywhere in North Port.
