Hey Mike,
Congrats on the new place! There are lot of things to do, people here will have a lot of ideas. You ought to start a new thread though, and you will attract more replies - I think. The beaches (take your pick) range from 1/2 hour to an hour. There are a few to choose from in within easy travel distance. Siesta Key is soft white sand, and has some nice bar / restaurants near by for a break if you need one.

Default North Port, FL- Buying Land

Hello,
What do you mean by every house on the market? I was recently thinking of investing in a piece of land in North port? Do you think thats a really bad idea?

What I'm noticing right now is the very best homes go within a day or so of being on the market. If they are well kept and well priced there are plenty of buyers willing to purchase homes in North Port (we have seven contacts written in the past two weeks). There really are some fantastic deals out there right now and I think people are starting to be in a bigger hurry to pick them up.

I live in North Port and find it very family friendly. The average age here is 40 years old. If you are looking for a city with a lot of nightlife, this probably isn't the place for you but if you are looking for a nice place to raise a family you should definitely put North Port on your list.

My family and I are considering the move to NP and have not found an agent to help in the selecting and buying of property, would you be interested in helping?

Hi grandmallie,

Today I'm in Timonium, Maryland. This time next week I'll be packing up my Yukon and my boat, and heading down to Florida for the week. I go back and forth a lot. I'm thinking that mid January I may slow the pace down, and be down there for a few months! Yeah Baby! The goal is to end up down there over longer and longer periods of time.

Sweet - 3 weeks will pass so quickly! If this is your first winter in Florida, you are going to really enjoy it. I have had a few friends move to the area over the years, and one of my best friends told me that he is going to be looking seriously in the area when he heads down in January. They are all in the SWFL area within 1/2 hour. I have a couple friends down there that I've meant to look up the last couple times I've been down, but just haven't had the time. Do you have any pre-existing friends in the area?

Oh, by the way, if you click on your name, and view your friends, I've been a pending friend for a while. - In case you're interested. - My friend.

Northporter is on a distinguished road
Go to Venice if you have a pile of money to spend. In Venice housing and the cost of living is higher. It is a much older community. I'm not certain new arrivals are as welcome as they are in North Port. It has been a hotbed of anti-development. The Venice government is in turmoil with most of the city council in trouble for violating the state law on open government. In North Port we find our government open and honest. The speculators snapped up North Port housing during the bubble. Prices are now excellent.
