Just wondering. Headed down there next week and a rental car for the week is pretty pricy.

Thanks for any insight!

I would think the rental car would be way cheaper than Uber!

If you're at the beach & plan to stay, parking can be challenging, traffic congestion is high. The beaches on Siesta have trolley that stops everywhere, Lido is very close to St. Armands & then downtown - again parking challenges and traffic bumper to bumper & Longboat, you'd be better off to use Uber or Lyft getting to St. Armand's; driving downtown, again, parking is going to be a challenge due to Spring Break. I think it's around $75 to $100 from TPA to Sarasota & you would be glad not to drive once you see the traffic congestion.

I've done both a lot of times!

Yes, with tip Uber is about $85 or so.

A rental car is a little harder for some, tho - you have to deal with getting and returning it.

There can definitely be a lot of traffic. Two recent forays to the airport took double the usual length of time. That is, two hours instead of one.

Thanks all. I ended up biting the bullet and getting a rental car. Now I have a little more flexibility to explore outside the Siesta Key Village area. Hoping to check out Sarasota a bit more than on previous trips.
