Temp transfer to Sarasota..need to rent
My husband has been temporarily transferred (6mo-1yr) to Sarasota through work and we are clueless about this area. He is a DMIT for Bed, Bath and Beyond and will be working in a store on Tamiami Trail. We will need to rent during this time and would like a safe, family area with good schools, but within a 30 minute drive to his job. I have been reading so many posts that my eyes are burning....hehe.....but I am still so confused. We can afford up to 1500 a month to rent. I am from a tourist trap on Cape Cod, so traffic, congestion and tourists do not bother me in the least. I just really want a safe, clean, middle class area with good schools, close to work and a place we can take walks and not worry about being mugged. Can anyone be specific please on street names or areas to look into. I have been searching on realtor.com for a rental and there are thousands to choose from, my head hurts! Most look like condos or townhouses and a few actual homes, either are fine with us. Here are some names and zipcodes that keep coming up: Napoli Dr. and Webber Place 34232-Manorwood Dr and Bentgrass Dr 34235-Duval Lane 34231-Parkridge Circle 34243-Forrestwood Trail.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as well as all thoughts and suggestions. Please be specific as possible.Thank you so much.

I can give you the name of a rental company down here that should be able to match you up with exactly what you're looking for. PM me if you're interested. (Please note: I am a Realtor, but I do not receive compensation for rentals. I personally don't enjoy doing them so I found someone in a different company who does and they take good care of the people that I refer.)

There are alot of nice Townhome rentals available in the University Park area. Try Sabal Bay, my cousin rents a nice 2 Br townhome there for 900. Its gated also. There is another comparable place also in university park but my mind has blanked on me!

The 3b on the trail is south of the city of Sarasota near Osprey. It's a easy commute from Venice, Nokomis and Osprey.
If you can get on the Island of Venice I believe you'd be very pleased. Check some of the offering on the horse and chaise website. On the Island you'd be in a very low crime area, many people walk the streets, the elementary and high school are on the Island.

You will love the area, and probably will be looking to extend the opportunity to stay longer. You should find a nice place to stay for the amount you posted.
I was in that store this past weekend looking for odds and ends that we need for the new house we are filling with bedroom furniture and bath things, as well as everything else. It is a nice store! Can't wait to get back down there shortly! Today it has been snowing like crazy up here. I don't know if we are getting much accumulation today or not.
