Relocating to Florida, looking for advice?
My family and I are going down to Sarasota in two weeks and we are going to be looking at homes. We are definitely going to be relocating there, but we are open to surrounding areas as well, such as Nokomis, Osprey and Lakewood Ranch. Can anyone give me some insight as to a really nice gated community in Sarasota, with fitness center and centrally located, but not hoity toity type... We'd like the kind of community where neighbors are friendly and people are active... possibly walking/jogging/biking trails... possibly new homes.... We are open to any and all suggestions. We are very excited about this move. We are looking forward to it. We've heard only good things about Sarasota.... Thank you for your help!!! Look forward to any responses...

If you want to be close to a bike trail, the mall, beaches, etc you might want to look into the Palmer Ranch area-Turtle Rock, Deer Creek, Huntington Pointe, Marbella, Mira Lago, Palisades, Silver Oak, Stonebridge, Stoneybrook, The Hamptons, Village Walk and Wellington Chase.
Good luck with your search

Try the University Park area also, nice homes in your price range, very suburbia, decent schools and VERY close to shopping.. Mote Ranch and Palm Aire are super nice in that area

I agree with oobie - anything on University Parkway is really, really nice. Palm Aire is a wonderful, older established area, we have friends there. Very lush and green out that way, close to great shopping, and really just a few minutes to scoot down into downtown, etc. Just go up and down University Parkway and you will see many different communities. You can do this when you visit Lakewood Ranch.
