Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:
AUGUST 23 - SEPT. 19
Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Event by Manatee County Animal Services -- all adoption fees waived during the event.
FRIDAY
Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch, 6 - 9 pm. Live music, vendors, food.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm. (Closed for the summer, back in October.)
Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.
Live Music at Lakewood Ranch Waterside Place -- runs 6 - 9 pm.
Awaken Riverwalk -- Ministry Outreach at Bradenton Riverwalk's Rossi Park, starts 4 pm.
Literacy Under the Trees -- story telling, crafts, family friendly event, 10 am - 1 pm, Oscar Scherer State Park.
NBP Rec Day -- learn the art of paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing & more. $10/adult, $5/adult with child, $35/family of 5 or more. 10 am - 2 pm, Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
Cars & Coffee Car Show -- coffee, donuts and local car show, 7:30 - 10:30 am, 1749 Cattlemen Rd.
VETS Warrior Breakfast -- Vets gather for breakfast event at Der Dutchman Restaurant, 3713 Bahia Vista in Sarasota, 9 - 11 am.
SATURDAY - SUNDAY
Englewood Pioneer Festival main events have been cancelled for 2022.
Labor Day (Sailing) Regatta -- City Island, 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway, starts 8 am each day. Food and merchandise vendors on site.
Half Off Weekend at Mote Marine -- 1/2 off admission for FL residents every weekend in Sept. Open 9 am - 5 pm, City Island, must reserve tickets online with promo code HALF.
Downtown Venice Craft Festival -- runs 10 am - 4 pm each day.
SUNDAY
Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.
The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.
Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.
Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Season over, back next winter for a new season of polo matches.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- back in late September with more shows.
Labor Day Party -- live music 2 - 6 pm, all day beach games and drink specials, Caddy's in Bradenton.
Labor Day Weekend Pool Party -- at the pool of the Sarasota Modern Hotel, 1290 Blvd of the Arts, 12 - 5 pm. Tickets $30/adult online or $40/adult at the door (must be 21+).
MONDAY
Knights of Columbus in Venice Pig Roast -- event starts 3 pm, pig roast dinner with sides at 4 pm, $20/person, reservations required.
