Buyers Remorse. (Sarasota, Siesta Key: real estate, to rent, house)

My friend bought in Sarasota area and already hates it.It was a quick decision,too bad didn't find this site,I just found tonight.Good/Sad and Funny some remarks people make.
Tells me the living is expensive there,low wages,has to drive a lot to get to places,high water bills,just not advanced as here in NY.Can't wait to move back North.
I thought I had a freebie yearly vacation/too bad.One year and it feels like a life time.

It too bad your friend is making such a quick call on Sarasota. Its a fabulous place to live. I have been here 5 years and came from the north. The climate is great for most of the year and is just as hot as it was up north in the summer. Only difference is it does't cool down in the evenings.
There is so much to do here, museums, music, many restaurants and tons of real estate to rent or buy right now. Siesta Key beach is always rated in the top 10 beaches and its free.
And living here is more expensive than NY? Where does he live in Buffalo?

where did you move from? i am moving to the sarasota area soon, hopefully, if my house in CT ever sells.
i am looking everywhere, looooove sarasota best but am not finding homes priced low enough yet.
how are you doing with the transition?
