Englewood is a nice beach town with great schools, nice beaches, several parks, libraries, fishing & boating opportunities. Lots of restaurants have been closing lately which is sad...

Englewood is in Charlotte & Sarasota counties, so you get the benefits of both counties and they share the schools in the area...

You can find homes under $100K to several million on the key...

I have lived here 4 years and love it... I have kids ages 5 to 19... It is hard to make a living here though... but if you can and you like a slower pace, this is a great place to raise a family!

I would have to are with Peach, it is a nice town. There are some sketchy areas and some very nice areas, like most any town. I lived in Englewood as a kid and enjoyed living there. I went to Englewood Elementary and it was a good school then and I have friends that have their children there now and speak fondly of the school. My step father works at Englewood Elementary and said that there is talk of the school shutting down due to budget cuts.

hdzup-I know you were considering sending your children to Pine View. I just wanted to mention, as Peach did above, Englewood is split into to counties and you must live in Sarasota county to attend this school. This means if you wanted to be able to attend you would have to live in the northern half of Englewood(the Sarasota county side).

I really like the downtown area of Englewood. It's quaint and has some really neat little shops and restaurants.

I reckon Np to Englewood would be about 30 mins. I like the Old part of Engl;ewood. Rotonda is also an option.

You will also be near a great Italian restaurant - Mamas on 776. The nearest place for the main set of food outlets is Venice

Neat. We would buy another house in a second if the right deal presented itself in Englewood.

Englewood like some others have said is very nice. I lived there a very short time.
It was too slow for me. I like a faster pace.
Some people call it Wrinklewood because they say a lot of retirees are there.
