Post North Port Newcomer Day

The City of North Port, along with the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce and the North Port Library, will be offering a North Port Newcomer Day from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the North Port Library.
This event will feature many of the City’s departments and divisions, along with community groups and organizations. It is designed to be a time when new residents of North Port, including those considering moving to the City, can come and learn about this community.
North Port, named the fourth fastest growing City in the state, has many new residents who live here. Many of these residents don’t know about the City’s services or local organizations that are available. The City, the Chamber and the Library wanted to create a way to reach those residents and encourage them to get connected and involved in their new hometown.
The North Port Newcomer Day will be offered four times a year. Designed to be only two hours on a Saturday morning at the North Port Library, the event will be filled with activity and information. The dates of North Port Newcomer Day are as follows: June 21, 2008; October 4, 2008; January 10, 2009; May 2, 2009. The time will always be from 10 a.m. to Noon at the North Port Library.
If you know of someone who is new to the City, or anyone who might be interested in coming to find out more about North Port, please invite them to come.
For more information, contact Erin Bryce, the City’s community outreach manager, at (941) 429-7165 or at ebryce@cityofnorthport.com
