I use CYA in North Port-941-429-1599
I've also also heard good things about:
AAA Insurance
941-627-1544

Rowley Insurance
941-475-7762

My insurance is $737 per year through CYA. My home was built in 2003, 2127 under air, no pool.

There are a lot of things that insurance companies take into consideration: age of home, proximity of a fire hydrant or natural body of water, flooding (95% of NP is not in a flood zone), etc.

Fishermark is on a distinguished road
One thing you will definately want to do is to have a free Windstorm Mitigation Report done on the house. It will identify several key features of the house for your Insurance Company. By law they have to offer discounts for various things - you do not get these discounts automatically. You have to let your insurance agent know about your home. Things like the type of roof - is it a hip roof (good) or a gable roof (bad). How old is the roof? Things like that.

I had Allstate for years, and one year ago, my homeowners was set to increase to over $2,500. It is now down to under a $1,000 due to these discounts and the windstorm mitigation report.

Ask your insurance agent about it and they can give you more info, or get the information straight from the state of Florida at mysafefloridahome.com
