Read the Bradenton Herald online, Welcometonewsmanatee.com, and then, see what you think. Crime is rampant everywhere but Bradenton for its size has more of it's share of crime.
Tara is nice, it's what we consider out "east."

What we call "Out East" or "East Bradenton", east of 1-75 is a whole nother world and reality to live in! Out here people complain about things like "When is the new mall with stores like Neiman Marcus Going to finish?" "Bank owned properties in deed restricted areas having weeds in their lawns" and "the varying quality of fitness centers in the sub divisions."
I'd be very comfortable living anywhere out east as far as "crime concerns go".
The subdivisions out here include- Heritage Harbor, Greenfield Plantation, Waterlefe, GreyHawk Landing, Mill Creek, Rye Wilderness, Country Meadows,-all off of Rt 64 and Parts of Lakewood Ranch and Panther Ridge- off of Rt 70
It's still very "country like" out here where you can hear the cows mooing at night.
When discussing Bradenton, there are worlds of differences between the experiences of living out east and out west.

North Port and Venice for the most part is safe.
Parrish is also safe but is so rural, NOTHING is out there. Not even a Wal-Mart, and you know that if there is no Wal-Mart, the town must be... small to say the least!

 - My point is that it is so small that there is nothing but farms and one little gas station.
