Can anyone recommend some good neigborhoods in Sarasota or the surrounding area? I am looking to rent a 3 bedroom home or apartment for under $1000 per month. Anyone know of any nice apartments I can look into? I am looking for low crime, good schools and a family orientated neigborhood. Any areas that I should stay away from?

Do you have a job? In what area are you working? I would suggest looking closer to your place of employment due to the price of gas. Give me a little more info and I can probably come up with some ideas

In Sarasota, I would say all the neighborhoods are pretty nice, expect Newtown. Stay away from Newtown.

You are going to have a hard time finding anything decent in an area that you want to live in for under $1000/month. Not saying it will be impossible, but.......

I would consider the job thing too. Sarasota is pretty spread out. The Northeast side may have some options for you. I think it's called Parkridge?? They are newer townhouses with garages and very nice. Also, some complexes in Lakewood Ranch are lower prices too. Look on Craigslist.org . Your should be able to find something to rent. Pretty much Northeast or Southeast are newer nice areas. Good luck!
