Pictures North Port?
Does anyone have pictures of North Port? I have been looking into renting there because there are a lot of the homes for rent and they are very affordable and look like new. All of this seems to good to be true. Is there something wrong with this city or something I should know about? I already know that a lot of the homes are on well water, but I still don't get it. Do they have many buisnesses there like stores, restaurants, malls, ect? Any neighborhoods to stay away from?

I too would like to understand why or how rental prices can be so ultra afforadable in North Port...seems to be too good to be true...but if it's really a legitimate deal, then it sounds excellent to me!

Yes, you can get a newer/new home in North Port for about $1000 +/- per month rent. There is a lot of inventory here due to the fact that many people bought on speculation. It's the old supply and demand theory. Right now there is an abundance of homes on the market so the home prices and rent prices are way down. Once the some of the inventory gets sold off you'll see the prices start to rise again.

Perhaps this topic should be moved to the Sarasota/Bradenton/Venice thread? Maybe the OP will get their request for pictures there.

I can recommend North Port to everyone. My wife and I retired here three years ago and we are pleased with the number of bright, friendly people we have met. But North Port also has truly excellent schools and an honest, open government. The city is about to build a $10 million teen center (open to adult activities when school is in session) from the cash it has tucked away. Home prices, including rent are quite low because speculators bought up homes during the housing bubble and many have been seeking ways to get out from under the payments when sales slowed. It is about 20 minutes to the Englewood beaches and we like to drive there to walk and watched the sun go down. Supper on our screened lanai (rear porch) is a pleasant place for a meal.
