Smile One mod's view of Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice forum on City Data . . .

I love City Data and I'm here to make your CD experience as pleasant as possible. I think the members and moderators here have done a good job of trying to make the CD forums friendly, respectful, welcoming, and informative. Afterall, this is a place where people should be able to express themselves and feel comfortable. All points of view are welcome as long as they are expressed politely. Life can be stressful - CD should be fun. Luckily, we have a very fine group of members who make sure our FL forums are good places to hang out, provide information, voice opinions, and discuss issues. I feel blessed to be one of your moderators because you are a great group of people that I enjoy interacting with and learning from. I'd like to personally thank each and every member of this forum for being polite, not engaging in personal attacks and name calling, treating others with respect, and making CD better place. I really appreciate it!

You're welcome Sunnydee. I'm happy to help and when I feel I'll end up arguing, now I simply don't reply.
That isn't easy for me because I do try hard to stress my opinions but after all, it is just an opinion.
We all have them

Thank you for doing such a great job as moderator!!

Thanks, Sunny - and you're a great mod!

Here lately, I have found myself rising to some "bait" which I told myself I would not do. But since I caught myself I am going back to my rules for myself that if any post "pushes my buttons" I will not respond.

For the most part we really do have a lot of good, helpful folks on this forum, and I always enjoy hearing their points of view and info on the particular part of our beautiful state in which they reside!

I'm new to spending time in such a forum. I'm afraid that I'm finding it addictive, are there any rehap centers planned?

Thanks for keeping us on our best behavior.

Yes, CD is addictive! No rehab facilities are planned. I'm afraid as soon as one would open they'd be filled to capacity. There's a thread entitled "You Might Be A CD Addict If . . ." that's a good read, but pretty scary in it's accuracy.

Sunnydee, I think you are a great moderator, you always answer our direct messages, give very useful advice, and are unbiased (this is the staple of a good moderator). I think these threads are an excellent opportunity for posters to inform others about different cities. The thing I like the most about city data is that all points of view are welcome and encouraged. Moderator cut: ..
