Default A Lot Of Crimes in Sarasota Too

I just checked on Sarasota County Sherriff's for arrests in Sarasota County for just yesterday.

There were 64 arrests, I saw 1 grand theft and 1 burglary. There was even one young girl arrested for aggravated assault.

Most were dui's and drug arrests. I didn't go through the entire 64 but I did want to bring this to your attention too.

As I have stated many times. Crime is everywhere!!
I wish we could stop it. Maybe doing our part in neighborhood watch programs would help.

I can never understand why pictures aren't posted on the MCSO site...at least Sarasota let's you put a face with a crime.

Lilaclady, why are you doing this?

It seems to me that you are trying to turn this into a contest- which is better. You have stated a million times "Crime is everywhere", why can't you just let it go at that? I think your trying to prove that Bradenton is better by constantly posting this crime stuff on Sarasota. Sarasota is a big city- crime will happen. You go to Newtown, you're going to see crime. You go to Gulf Gate Estates, you won't see as much crime. It's going to be that way.

Not trying to be rude, just stating my opinion. I think we need to be civil and stop this constant back and forth between Bradenton and Sarasota, because that's what your doing. Starting this thread isn't being civil, because you're trying (IMO) to prove your point again, just like what you were doing in the Bradenton threads. I think we all understand your point, and your right. Crime is everywhere, but why can't you just leave it at that? Again, not being rude, just stating my opinion.

I agree. I mean come on - obviously Bradenton has crime issues that need to be solved. Perhaps time would be better spend focusing on a change for the positive rather than rationalizing that crime is acceptable because other towns may have issues also.

Did you read the very last line of the thread?
That's the point I was making. Someone else started a thread about a crime in North Port and I don't think I said anything negative about it being in North Port and not in Bradenton and I didn't say na na na na na na about the post on Sarasota Co. either.

Please, read the entire thread, not just the parts you want to pick out.
I'm very close to NewTown everyday at work so I do believe I know about that area better than I do the areas in Bradenton since I am of course awake there Good Night!

I read the entire thread and so did UKOK and we both say that this thread is just you trying to prove a point because more than once you have compared Bradenton crime to Sarasota Crime.

I don't understand the last paragraph of your post quoted above.

I don't understand the last paragraph of your post quoted above.
The paragraph above says:

I work very close to NewTown and since I am there every day, I see what is happening there more since I am awake there.
I just got home from Sarasota and it was around 8:00. I go to bed at 9:00
What you didn't understand I presume is the fact that I am in Bradenton very few hours during the week and when I am here, like now, I don't see or hear any problems and I'll be asleep soon.

Maybe putting the last line of the thread in red will help:

I wish we could stop it. Maybe doing our part in neighborhood watch programs would help.

I was hoping for responces from everyone on what we can do to help the situation but once again, nobody sees what I have really said!

Instead I get judged and accused of trying to compare counties.

Putting the quote in red won't do anything but turn the letters red. Never mind about the last paragraph.

You can't blame us for assuming that this is to prove that Bradenton is better than Sarasota. In a few of the Bradenton threads about crime, you posted articles about Sarasota crime, you constantly talking about how "crime is everywhere, not just Bradenton" and on Keeper's Public Profile you wrote: "She's merely trying to prove that not all of Bradenton is bad." PROVE- you're trying to prove that Bradenton isn't all bad by trying to convince us that Sarasota isn't so good. You can't blame us for thinking that.

Cased closed. Sarasota not only has higher crime than Bradenton, but has higher crime than some other larger cities such as Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale ! However, MANATEE COUNTY does indeed have a higher crime rate than Sarasota County. Here is a link to all of the most recent 2007 crime stats you could possibly desire.
