Default Carbondated, Are you still looking?

Where are you living now - in Florida? There are new lending rules going down, that are going to make getting financing more and more difficult for people. We are ready to find a house as well. I think that with the recent events things are not going to bottom out for a while - the problem is when you know you hit bottom, you will see prices rising rapidly, and selection dwindling rapidly. You'll be looking back saying darn the bottom was 6 months ago, and I wish that one house hadn't sold.

Have you been house hunting lately? Or, are you biding your time?

There are so many places out there to find exactly what you like is difficult. One tends to want the best of each thing they see. It is like standing in front of 100 HD big screen TVs. Each one is better than the other, all have fantastic picture (I know - I just bought one for my daughter, and another for our kitchen). You know what, when you get it home and plug it in - the picture is great, and you can't tell if it is better or worse than the one you looked at right next to it in the store. They are all good.

I was just thinking about your searches when this thread re-emerged. That is kinda funny.
For some reason, I remember really making someone mad at me when I made a TV reference . . . LOL (private joke)
~~ Oh look at that . . .what is that. . . a new smilie (or something else?) LOL

Here's the answer I got:

It is out in Beta right now and will be rolling out soon. Were you at the general membership meeting where we showed the beta version? Looking good and can’t wait for it to be launched.

I discovered a realty site that deals with NP/PC properties that besides showing their own site with their listings, also has a MFR mls link. The actual mfr listing sheet is shown. I tried going to the site myself but was denied access. So at this point, there is the ability of RE firms to link and show 'the important info stuff'.

It's finally here: www.MyFLoridaHomesMLS.com This is the new public access website. Here's what was said about it. Let me know how you like it.

MFRMLS and our Thirteen Shareholder Associations/Boards Launch Consumer Website

More than 80% of homebuyers start their home search online. The result of our efforts is a website called MyFloridaHomesMLS.com, a consumer website that makes the listings of MFRMLS subscribers accessible to the public.

Introducing MyFloridaHomesMLS.com

Right from the home page, the consumer may search by address, street, neighborhood, city, state, zip, MLS # or an easy to navigate map search is available by clicking on the county. Rolling over each county with your mouse will enlarge the county and display the cities. Consumers may also search by additional fields such as list price, beds, baths, square footage, year built and acreage.

How does it work?

MyFloridaHomesMLS.com is powered by MarketLinx, the same company that provides MLXchange. The listing data on MyFLoridaHomesMLS.com is in sync with the MLS, which gives the consumer updated information every fifteen minutes as opposed to the 3rd party sites which require daily updates from the MLS, and other third party sites which do not update listing content on a regular basis. Consumers begin their search by entering their preferences and then viewing a list of matching listings. The property detail for each listing prominently features photographs of the property. When a consumer wishes to contact an agent regarding a property, they have the choice of calling, emailing, or completing the contact form.

Other Features!

Check out the “Open Houses”, “Foreclosures” and “Waterfront” Searches! “Find an Agent” gives every member additional exposure. The “Value My Home” feature offers a fun valuation tool that appears to be very popular with consumers. There will be no advertising, up selling, lead redirection, premium placement or any other way for agents or listings to have an advantage over any other. All Listings are “enhanced” including up to ten photos compared to one on some consumer sites!

The MFRMLS Board of Directors and your local Association/Board invite you to visit the NEW consumer website at www.MyFloridaHomesMLS.com

Thanks to Soflgal for her diligence with keeping track of the new mls for us.
I'll give the new site a work out and get back with a critique.

I'm over on the other coast at a convention right now so I haven't had any time to play around with the website yet.

That would be great d4g4m, if you could let me know your opinions. I'll pass them along to Marty-the president. Since it's still new there might be a possibility of getting some changes made.

Hey everyone,

I see that you have posted some comments about the new MLS on another thread. I appreciate your feedback. I'm on the other coast right now at a foreclosure conference and won't we back until Saturday evening. I'll pass your questions/suggestions/concerns on to the "higher ups" for review once I get back in town. The internet connection in the hotel where I'm staying is extremely slow. I see many posts that I would like to respond to but it would probably take me hours to post from here due to the connection speed.

I'll catch up with everyone once I'm back in town. Looking forward to meeting some of you on Saturday night
