Today I went to Travelocity's site and did the "search surrounding airports" and picked Sarasota. I can fly Milwaukee to Sarasota for the same price I flew last week into Ft. Meyers! BUT today I got a job!!
BUT it's only temporary! So...I may or may not be working by then! My firiend who works there doesn't think there's any way they will be caught up enough for me to be let go...so...???
One thing IS for sure, it will definitely be a last minute decision.

Both of those are good ideas that I have used a few times myself,to get a much better deal for airfare. If you can work it in to your plans to fly on a weekday,(Tuesdays and Thursdays are good),instead of the weekend, a person can sometimes save a substantial amount! Also the airlines do sometimes have selloffs during the week or two prior to departure. I have had some good luck with Southwest lately.

I can't get Southwest though, unless I drive to Chicago Midway. Not a pleasant thought. O'Hare's not bad for us, about 90 minutes, but Midway is further, more in town, and not a pleasant part of town, and I don't really know how to get there.

Hey, stay calm. If he doesn't have any work, he ought to come down and find something! Or, you could come down and start something. Sometimes that is how it works. You will find the right path for you, and what ever troubles you struggle through today, will be nothing more than memories of the past. That is the short truth of it.

Things are busy down here right now. And if your going to get a job, now might be a good time to get down here, so you can get one, and hopefully it will continue through the rest of the year.

That said, I'm sure things are really tough right now! On the bright side, though you're almost through February one of the toughest months up there. Have you had many showings on your house lately, or is it still on the market? How 'bout DMing me with a little update.

Is it possible to rent your home up north while you're waiting for it to sell and then come down and rent a place down here? Just a thought...maybe you could turn it into something positive.

But everyone keeps telling us there are no jobs down there!! Even not so fun jobs...
I just checked that cheap flight into Sarasota, it's now over $500. Sounds like mrcool will be celebrating his birthday here in the cold and snow of Wisconsin. Speaking of snow, it's snowing like you wouldn't believe right now.
