Tell me about Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres (Fort Myers, North Port: real estate, 2009)

I was searching for rentals in North Port through some real estate sites and when I plugged in a 30 mile area around North Port, many rentals in Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres came up. Can anyone tell me about these towns/cities/areas?

Hi. There is a Fort Myers-Cape Coral forum and you'll find many threads there about Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres. Both cities are in Lee County.

Being from New Jersey, I can't say that I had ever heard of Lehigh Acres before reading about it in the New York Times very recently:
