Special events this weekend? (Sarasota: kids, social, travel)

This is more targeted to LWAF as she seems to have her pulse on the most interesting social events going on in Sarasota, but I welcome any and all comments from board members.
Are there any special 3rd Thursdays or 2nd Saturdays this week? Is this Saturday one of the weekends that Palm Ave opens up? Mrs. and I will be there 4/15 to 4/22. I think this is actually the first time we will be there sans kids or relatives. Just the two of us. So we can DO WHAT WE WANT, WHENEVER WE WANT
Any suggestions?

I believe Thursday, April 16th will be a "3rd Thursday" over at Ringling out back on the bay.

Go on line to the Sarasota Herald tribune & check the ticket, as well.
