I am currently in Ohio and will be moving to Sarasota in the near future. I have healthcare through my work with Kaiser Permanente HMO. I will be keeping my job, but unfortunately Kaiser has no facilities in Florida, so I need to find an alternate healthcare provider.

My company is a very small one (4 people) and I'll be the only one in Florida, so I'm trying to investigate my possibilities before talking with my boss. My wife currently handles herself and our daughter through her work insurance plan, but she wil be leaving her job when we move.

Seems like United Health and Blue Cross both have individual plans that could provide similar care to what we have now.

Does anyone here have personal experience with these groups? Any insights would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks all.

Yeah, my husband works for Tampa Bay Trane and we have United Healthcare. I'm not sure how much the company pays to have this plan. They are a very large company. Anyway, he's had Untied for about 8 years or so and I've been pretty happy with them. My doctor, my kids pediatrician and any specialty doctors have all accepted the insurance.

My husband has money taken out of his check weekly for the insurance and then I pay $20 for a Dr's visit and $20 for a prescription. It used to be $10 but they recently increased the price.

Thanks SoFlGal. If you do searches online for people's experience with these companies, they are all horrible, because the happy people would have no reason to say anything. All you see is "OMG THIS IS THE WORST INSURANCE EVER!!!"

Yikes! That's not good! Well, I've had no problems at all but then again, I haven't had any major hospital bills other than having a baby a few years back. Then there's the handful of emergency room visits with the kids. Other than that, just routine Dr's visits. I guess I'm just grateful to have insurance, ya know, not everyone has it.

I think you're right though, most people know how to complain but they forget that it's just important to speak up when your satisfied with a company, person, etc.
