Hold the SAO accountable. And immigration.
It isn't our Jewish population committing these violent crimes.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that we have lived in a neighborhood our grown daughter jokingly refers to as "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" in NORTHWEST BRADENTON for 10 years...

without one incidence of crime - against us or any of our neighbors.

Well, we did get "t.p.'d" once - lol, by our high school daughter's friends!

West and Northwest Bradenton have many VERY NICE neighborhoods with homes selling from $175,000 - over $2 million. And we are about 10 minutes from the gulf beaches.

Face it - every area has it's pluses and minuses - what makes the difference is what you CHOOSE to focus on!

Right on...however, a friend of a friend of mine, who's parents live on Riverview Blvd. has a bad crack addiction. Things were stolen from the parent's home & drug delivery brought dealers down the street. Just read an article regarding theft on Riverview that was front page regarding people having jet skis & boats stolen (now there's a lot of dry docking going on) on that very prestigious street.

Crime, unfortunately, finds it's way into every neighborhood. Hence, the neighborhood watch groups are now, more important than ever. Knowing your neighbors is more important than ever these days.

Again...stuff happens everywhere. It just bothers me when sweeping statements are made against west Bradenton, when I personally know they are not true. We read about crimes in east county as much or more than we do on Riverview Blvd.

In the meantime, we can run out to the beach for morning coffee or an evening sunset, and are grateful that we live in peace and safety in a great family neighborhood. NO PLACE is perfect; I agree that knowing your neighbors and looking out for each other is always a good idea.

DeSoto has had problems since the late 80s at least. Its not that far from one corner of the ghetto.

DeSoto? The Nat'l. Memorial? Not sure what you're referring to...

It has been vandalized. High school kids have traditionally targeted it for pranks & have burned down the little hut. A shame, and waste of tax-payers' dollars, but not crime that affects the daily lives of west Bradenton...unless obviously one works there.

If you check out some of the online apartment ratings, you will see that "horrible" apartments are everywhere...including throughout Manatee County.

The topic is gang activity in Bradenton...it often takes place in and around some of the less-than-desireable apartments, correct?
