That would be "cool" But, my boat is only big enough for two, and a few big Tarpon at a time. I know Bob and I will be really busy with double doubles!

i am looking into areas with less expensive, older homes- like venice east, south venice, and venice gardens. i have been driving by to check them out, and one thing i notice is that they are a mix of very nice well kept homes, average homes, and then there are rundown houses with tons of junk in the yard. this is very different from Pennsylvania- where i am from.

are these neighborhoods generally safe? with low crime? (i am a single female). or would i have to really worry about breakins and drug dealers etc?

opinions please!!! thanks alot

boy these lil "emotion faces" are fun LOL
We live in So. Venice near ferry and Lemon Bay drive. We were hoping that we would always have equity and better neighbors in that area.

It hasn't really turned out that way but I am still glad we are in this neighborhood.

Not dangerous but we do have some neighbors in foreclosure who like to collect things - like cars running or not. I would still pick So. Venice over East or gardens but there are some nice house there too. It's better than most neighborhoods in PC and Englewood.

It reminds me of the Dennis Leary comedy quote about NYC "Good street, bad street". I guess that IS Florida. You never know what you will get and you see the reason for gated communities and deed-restriction. Deed-restriction doesn't neccessarily keep the junk cars away.

We did get an alarm after some crack house activity in the neighborhood but that went away. We still like the alarm and gives us security.

No gangs or anything like that, just poor Florida drug and drinkin' folks trying to live their version of the Florida lifestyle

enough from me
