There isn't anywhere that is really close to Pineview that is also walkable to the beach. Your choices for close to Pineview would be Rivendell, Willowbend, Southbay and The Oaks-all in Osprey with Rivendell probably being your best bet out of that bunch. There are a ton of Pine View families that live in there. You would also want to check out Palmer Ranch-Turtle Rock, The Hamptons, Deer Creek and Stonebridge-all in south Sarasota-with Turtle Rock probably being your best bet there.
If you wanted walkability to the beach you'd probably have to be on one of the keys-Siesta Key, Casey Key, Longboat Key, Lido. With Siesta probably being your best bet there. The property out on any of the keys would be much more expensive than anything in Rivendell or Turtle Rock.
Hope this helps

I have a question to ask, and I am not being sarcastic, I realy would like to know.
I always hear how the cost of living in the Sarasota area is so high, for me I dont agree. I have a very nice pool home in Venice, nothing fantastic compared to some peoples homes, but it is more than comfortable. I am about 5 minutes to the beach.
My house taxes are less than I paid in Pennsylvania, insurance is more, that I agree. Car insurance is about the same as I had.
My electric bills do not even compare to what I paid up there to heat my home in the winter! Most years I had to turn the furnace on in Sept, in the early morning hours, even if for just a bit to warm up the house. I would have the furnace running up till always June, and those heating bills were no joke.
Food, medical about the same...
Just wondering why everyone says cost of living is so high here? Help?

I agree with you. Here in central MA my insurance rates are almost as high as in Florida, the taxes are MUCH higher, the utilities are higher and house maintenance bills are higher. Come to Massachusetts and really find out what it costs to heat a house.
