Default You can grow blueberries in Florida

Yes many people grow blueberries. You need acidic soil so many people grow them in tubs with shredded pine bark.

Here is a link to people you'll need to get to know, your local extension office. They are part of the University of Florida and can tell you everything you need to know about anything gardenwise at no charge. Every county has an office you can call or visit but a lot of information is on the net.

That's interesting. I never knew you could grow blueberries down here. I always assumed it would be to hot. I'm guessing they would grow best in the winter. Learn something new every day

WAannabe, you are right! You know the saying - "There is a first for everything!" Great observation!

Come on SoFLGal - I can't believe this! A blemish on your pristine record! I'm sure this will be front page on the Herald tomorrow!

We will have to have a little CD challange - maybe this winter.

Eastern Shore tomatos and white corn (silverqueen) is what is famous here besides the blue crab. They have a really old recipe for fried green tomatos with lump crab meat and burre blanc sauce - Man is that good eating. ((one of life's little pleasures is that I really know how to cook). Oh, and drink beers! ! - I'm really good at that!!
Fried green tomatoes with crab and burre blanc sauce sounds GREAT!! We'll be down the week of Thanksigiving! When are you serving???
