Bobcat by the Peace River
This photo was taken on the property where I used to live on the Peace River before hurricane Charley. One of the things I really enjoyed about being on the river was the diversity of wildlife I was able to witness daily. I've have the property on the market, and someone that is interested in the land just set this picture he took when he went to go look at the property again. It's not everyday you get to see a bobcat.

I love that! I love anywhere you can see a broad variety of wildlife - nothing makes me feel more at peace. Great photo!

Bobcats are very shy creatures, and I think they have large established territories. Yours are probably waiting for your return from the UK.
I always expect to see them after an explosion of the rabbit population.
I had the joy one time of seeing one take a pelican from the end of my neighbors dock. Sorry for the pelican, but being able to witness the cunning and speed of the cat first hand was special.

I am living in the harbor heights / deep creek area right off a canal. Just the other day I saw (2) bobcats together in the lot in front of the house. One came out & just started walking down the street.
I have only been her 1.5 years & this has happend once here & once in North Port.

ECBS - The cat in the picture was on Peace River Dr in Harbor Heights, maybe the same cat you saw in front of your house.

Hey Bob!
Great picture. We have a couple dens of foxes in our neighborhood.
They move in and out as the rabbit population increases / decreases.
We had a rabbit explosion for a year, and now they are back and the rabbits are disappearing.
I wish they liked squirrels. I think squirrels must be tougher critters than they want to handle because we have hundreds of them here.

Thanks for sharing Bob. It is so cool hearing all these beautiful wild life stories and even better when someone gets a good picture of it.

Great Picture!! Wife and I were looking for a garage sale on N. Salford today and a bobcat trotted accross the road in front of us. Really neat seeing one so close. She no sooner disappeared in the vacant lot when one of her little ones crossed. Fantastic. Didn't think they were out in the daylight.
