I'm really jealous of you guys...while it's nice here in Wisconsin, we're apparently getting the summer we never had in July in September, we all know it's too good to last, and we're facing another winter in Wisconsin.
We have at least 3 years here, then we get our final payment for our business we sold, but we bought a lot in Port Charlotte last March, and can only come down once in awhile now and visit it, and all our CD friends. We're going to be down the week of Thanksigiving, and would love another City Data get together, who's in?? Who's in town that week????

I'll be here, of course, but I'm booked in and around Thanksgiving in the day time but night should be fine as long as someone starts throwing some dates out and getting it organized.
We should start another meet up thread and have everyone post when they're gonna be here so BH/JB can see what the most logical time would be to set it up and get things moving  |

Mrs. Cool! Are you trying to get down to Florida too? I can't wait to get down to the best place in the world! LOL! I'm really excited to fulfill our dreams of living in Florida!
If a meet and greet is going on, I would love to attend and meet everyone from CD! I'm so excited to meet all my new friends that have helped me find my way to Florida! I may have to have help finding where you guys are since I won't be familiar with the area! So, please make it easy! LOL! I am blonde you know!
Can anyone tell me what the utility companies are in North Port and Sarasota? Thanks in advance!
Update: Painting my son's room today and carpet guy delayed and will not be here until Thursday. So, I guess house won't go up until this weekend or first of next week! Arrggghhhh!

Hey Chrissy,
I thought the carpet was going in yesterday, and was waiting for your confirmation post! Sorry for the delay. Keep some touch-up paint handy. The carpet guys usually scratch the walls and base trim up a bit.
I am going to schedule a meet-up probably in the Venice area as soon as I can tie down my arrival date. My wife has a minor treatment she has to go in for on October 14th. I will be leaving right after that. I want to see if I can get it scheduled with the Sunshines are in town from England. So it will probably be the weekend after the 14th. Probably like the 16th or 17th. So keep that free - OK.

BH! The carpet guy had to delay for an emergency for his family! So, the carpet will probably get installed on Thursday or Friday. I am bummed about that! So, I guess I will work on the paint in my son's room so everything will be ready to go once the carpet is installed! I can't wait! I'm so excited...oh yeah, I keep saying that don't I? I will keep the 16th and 17th open for the meet up! I can't wait to meet all of you! I will keep you posted!

Jb the weekend after is the 17/18th - we fly out the evening of Sunday the 18th.
maybe the friday is better to give me time to recover....

We ordered a little more mulch and finished it up today. My son's room has the ceiling painted and the walls cut in. So, we are moving right along! Now, we just need the darn carpet installed and we are ready to put the sign in the yard! Time is flying and I wanted to have the house on the market by now! Can anyone tell me what the major corporations are in Sarasota? And can someone tell me how far it is from Sarasota to North Port? And how far North Port is from Venice? And how far Sarasota is from Venice? And how far Ft. Myers is from Venice? And how far Sarasota is from Ft. Myers? Sorry, just trying to get my bearings! LOL! And oh yeah, how far is Sarasota to the Keys (like Key Largo and Key West)? Thanks everyone for all your support!

It all depends if you are SoFLGal or not! She will cut 15 minutes off even the shortest of the runs, but I'll give it a try!
Ft. Myers to Sarasota - 2 hrs.
Ft. Myers to Venice - 1hr & 45 minutes
NP to Sarasota - 30 minutes
NP to Venice - 20 minutes
Sarasota to Venice 15 minutes
NP to Key West - a few hours - maybe 6 if you drive!
My house to yours - 1 beer!  j/k I don't drink and drive! And after 12, I don't get my bearings either, so I fully understand!
