in fact I need to get a good product and reseal my kitchen countertops --

When I install natural stone, or any unsealed tile, I seal the tiles before I lay them. Depending on the tile, the grout or thinset may stain without a seal.

When I lived in Scottsdale, AZ; we bought a house that had a ton of travertine and it was dirty also. What we did was hire someone to come in and steam clean it and then they sealed the grout with a matching color grount sealant. It took away the busy looking lines and cleaned it right up. I'd highly recommend you look for someone who can match the tile color so everything looks uniform.
