Looks like you guys had a great time, we sure miss you all that we already know, and wish we could have been there to meet y'all that we have not yet met. Thanks SoFlGal for remembering us and mentioning us in your post about those you already knew were not down. We hope to be down soon, there's just so much going on up here, mr.cool is in a new band and they're getting gigs right and left, so it's hard to make plans. However we already have airline tix we HAVE to use before Oct 31 or lose 'em so we WILL be down sometime before then. We were planning on Memorial Day weekend, then the band got two gigs. Sigh. So...maybe right after July 4? We have that week off.
As far as the Veltes, they got soooooooooo fed up with all the crap over on the Ft. Meyers'/Cape Coral board (even tho I warned them to stick to this one), he completely deleted his profile. We, SoFlGal and Big House have his direct email, so we can still get in touch with them.
Miss you guys!!!!
mrs.cool

Lets schedule another meet-up for sometime in May. We should be able to make this one, and any future ones! What town is next on the list?

It should be Venice. That way it is still not to far for the Sarasota regulars (who never show up), to make it. I think that it has to be after the 9th though, because that is when the Sunshine's will be back in town, and I'd like to see them attend. I think we added new group of friends to our meet up people. I met and talked with everyone, and everyone is really cool and has some unique stories! They were all nice people that I feel comfortable hanging with. I hope they can all attend the next one too.

What great pictures!!! Not the camera, of course, but the photographer .

Too bad I was not there yet, got lost (on my way back too ), and it is not BH fault, but my GPS who is an idiot... or has not been trained enough . More work to do. It was his first day, so we can forgive (yes, it is a HIM, only men need to be trained LOL)

I would love to meet you all again, but it is really really far from "home", I went back at 12:30 am, with some crazy drivers on the road.

Thanks BH, and all who attended it. See you soon.

Randy your camera takes very nice pics. Can you DM me the make and model of it
No, but I'll tell you right here for all the world to see

Actually, it takes MUCH better pictures than the ones I posted a page or so back. As you recall, I took those at last light, and without the benefit of the flash, so the shutter speed would've been slower and likely that the camera wasn't steady

The camera is a Canon (a longtime favorite brand for me, back to the days of 35mm) and the model is PowerShot SD 960IS This one is a 12.1 megapixel, and part of their Elf family of point & shoot cameras. There is a near-identical version of this that has an ultra-wide angle lense (both models "zoom" of course) that Sue's brother has, and the reason why we bought this one. I don't know that I would use or prefer a wider angle, as it tends to make the image look to be farther away. Might be an advantage for interior shots, not forgetting what your line of work is

If you have any questions, I'll do my best to either answer them, or find someone that can

Just so you know how sharp the image is in sunlight, or with a flash, I'll post a couple of random shots below, while we were in New Orleans.

Hmmm, I can't find any interesting pictures where I've used a flash! Here's a house interior that I took last week while Judi was running us around. I had to resize it to fit CD parameters, so even this may not be truly representitive of the quality you can expect...

I had lunch at the Hona Luana Island Grill (222 Airport Ave E Venice) two days ago, and it was very cool and laid back, they had decent live music, the staff was very friendly, and the food was way above expectation for such a casual type place.

Price was right, too.

Seems like the perfect sort of spot for a casual meetup.

Note: Sharkey's seems like a tourist trap to me. There was no way I was going to stand around outside for an hour waiting to eat there. They would have to be giving away duck confit, grilled ribeyes and Guinness for me to wait that long.
