There's a place called Chef Wan or something like that on Wilmington Island. It was pretty good the one time I ate there.

I second CHEF WAN on Wilmington Island. It's a hole in the wall right next to Domino's Pizza (across from McDonald's on JMB) but it's some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The hot and sour soup is best EVER. Family owned (daughter works the front counter, mom and grandma in the kitchen). Plus, THEY DELIVER!

Default chef wan

well I tried it tonight and it was okay. the Moo Goo Gai pan was kinda bland, needed broccoli and or carrots. hit the spot, but still needed a little something else. I usually start out with chicken fried rice and then move on to other dishes if the cfr is okay, but decided to go right for it. will probably try other things since it's 2-3 minutes from home....

Should have mentioned - Chef Wan tends to UNDER-spice everything (especially traditional hot pepper dishes) but they will adjust according to your taste. They make their own HOT MUSTARD SAUCE and it is to die for (and will kill you too if not careful!)

Why would anyone think that moo goo gai pan is Chinese food?

There's a place in Georgetown that's pretty good. I think it's called China Wok or something like that.
