Default Thinking of moving to Guyton, Rincon, Pooler areas. Thoughts on jobs?

I'm wondering if anyone has any input on dental hygiene jobs in the surrounding Savannah areas. Are there jobs to be had? I know some areas of the south are saturated and dental hygienists are having a hard time finding work.

Also, if you have any thoughts on Guyton, Rincon or Pooler I'd appreciate it. We are a family with kids ages 11-20.

Thanks for any input

Most any medical job in the Savannah area is hard to come by nowadays. All the hospitals have had some big layoffs. I know at my Dentist, the hygienists are staying put, as there's nowhere for them to currently go. If you're serious about relocation, I'd stay where you are for at least another year, minimum.

I don't think there is a major base of dentists in Effingham; that is to say, most residents travel to Savannah or to Statesboro for that sort of thing. I can't speak for Richmond Hill, but I would suspect Bryan County has as many dental practices as Effingham, and for the same reasons. What might also work against a newcomer is the tendency of Effingham residents to hire other locals in that whole "a friend of a friend's daughter just graduated from dental school" good-old-boy network.

Living in Effingham (or Bryan) would be great for a family with school-age kids, but it might be necessary to commute into Savannah for work. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Statesboro might be a place to look at for more dental offices to check out, and Guyton is about half-way between Statesboro and Savannah.
