If I was you I would take the Coffee Bluff house and offer to move in mid month, that way you would only be out $450.
We can't do that because we pay our rent in arrears on post. Our lease is up March 12 and they would be taking rent until Mid April. There is no way we would be able to afford 3x rent for that time.

I just think it's a crime that they want to charge $1200 for the crap houses here and how they use the military BAH for that. A lot of these places aren't even worth $800 a month (like the on post housing who has problem after problem and doesn't make any effort to fix anything). Makes me want to puke.

I'm happy to say we found a place. A large 1500 sq ft 2 bedroom (the master room is enormous with 3 closets along the wall), big sunroom, fenced back yard in South Savannah. The owners are allowing us to move in March with a deposit today and we can move in sooner once the carpet and walls are done near the end of February.

Yeah, my only concern is that there is a High School behind us (not our house but the streets). Hopefully, it will be ok. We have high fences and no one can see in.

It's be tween AASU and a High School. I know the area surrounding is not the greatest... We'll just make the best out of it.

Glad you found something, good luck in the future, just remember after his first tour it gets easier and the pay becomes a lot better.

We are military too, I like the southside. People seem nice, live in an older neighborhood, working class people, older people who raised their families and some young families. A few police officers too (I like that, if they are willing to live here, its say a little about the neighborhood)

I get updates from this everyday to my e-mail. Keeps me aware of my surrounding, and really helps to understand what is going on in your neighborhood.

Thanks. He has decided he is quitting the Army once his 6 years is up... that's in 16 months so I don't think the pay will be getting any better.
