It's good to know that you really did make it! I hope you have a great time.
Now, unless things have changed, a nurse is hired as a Graduate Nurse until he or she passes the Georgia State license board. Then she can put an RN after her name. I am sure that the hospital that interests her will be able to steer her in the proper direction for brush-up instructions. Armstong University has a Graduate Nursing program and they should also be able to help.
Good luck to you both! Take a good look at Wilmington and Whitmarsh Islands as possible places to live. Houses, condo, apartments, take your pick, they are all there. Good convenient places to shop, etc. right on the Islands.

Hope things are going well.
I thought about you yesterday and today when I opened up our daily newspaper.....What a treat! reading a two page spread about a five year old murder that most people didn't even know happened. That's a pretty pitiful excuse for news. I think that a report on what was served for lunch at the local Senior Center would have been more newsworthy.
Oh well, if nothing happens, then I guess you can't write about it.

No news is good news?
Hi!
I suppose an old murer is better than new ones!
We should be moving over in early December. Am not sure how well we'll be able to settle in before Christmas without furniture and stuff, but hey it'll be fun!
Looking for a place on Wilmington Island or the Isle of Hope, Whitemarsh Island at a push. My office i southside near the Oglethorpe Mall, so not a bad commute across that way!
Any one got any ideas on good rental agents that way out?
Cheers,
Graham

Re-Visit
Hi All,
Many thanks to those who posted messages first tiem round.
I am making a trip back, without my family, for two weeks starting on 28th Oct. Any ideas on how to amuse myself safely? Or anyone know of any rentals in the Isle of Hope / Wilmington Island area?
Cheers,
GW-UK

I live in the US, Rhode Island. I would say it is moderately expensive to live here. I have a husband and a son. We pay a mortgage, have luxuries, cable, internet, cell phones, and 2 insured autos and of course credit card bills. Eat well, travel a few times during the year, and many times renting a home is the same price as having a mortgage. We live in a decent and safe area, have a fairly new home, 10 yrs old, and a big yard. Our monthy expenses are $3100.00 a month. So take home pay after taxes would have to be at least $3000, or more to live a pretty good lifestyle. The more the better. I imagine it is cheaper to live anywhere on the east coast of the US, from the mid-atlantic area down for 3000k or less a month. hope it is helpful!

I work with so many Brits who have come to many different areas of the U.S. and brought their families. Usually, when they are asked about the "downsides" - they say, "WHAT downsides? " I don't know one (including my hubby of over 30 years) who ever regretted it. Savannah is gorgeous. Yes, weather hot and humid but remember Brits are used to less than perfect weather themselves. Welcome to America and to gorgeous Savannah in particular. You sound like a nice family so you will have no problems. People in Savannah are wonderful and very friendly! Been there six times on business and loved it every time ! Savannah natives will adore hearing about your homeland and you will be welcomed, I'm sure!

Original post is a couple of years old. I'm sure GW-UK either stayed or came by now. Just an FYI.
