"We get validation of Savannah as the right location for us almost daily," Nunnally said. "It has a growing high-tech community and an abundance of talent."

jobs in Savannah
You aren't kidding about it being tough. I've been trying for a month and haven't gotten anything. I'm about to be homeless next month..I just cannot get a job.

Any ideas on the prospect for welding jobs in the savannah area? What kind of wages are certified welders able to look for ?

This area SUCKS for professional jobs, just horrible. Stay away, stay far away, keep driving south to Jacksonville and beyond or north to Virginia. The only real choices are Gulfstream (which puts its employees in mold incased trailors) the local school district, or SCAD and maybe something local mom and pop type place. Thats it. This "city" and its leaders should be ashamed of itself for not attracting ANYTHING, and if it weren't for the military this place would die. Even blue collar jobs are dying a slow and painful death here.
Stay away, stay far far away.

Savannah jobs
The job market in Savannah and surrounding cities is a little tight right now. However, there are jobs in the area, you just have to keep looking. I see 'now hiring signs' all the time. The jobs might not be exactly what you're looking for, but when available jobs are hard to come by any decent job is better than unemployment because when things get back to normal you can always upgrade. I have recently started a local job search site for the Savannah area. Please go check out the jobs listed and upload/create your resume for Free, http://www.savannahareajobs.com.

To be blunt, don't move here if you don't have a job. Lots of closures, lots of unemployment, not a good bet for someone looking for a job.

I found an entry level job 1 month after I started looking. It didn't pay what I wanted but 2 months later I was hired by another company for the pay that I wanted.
I dont think jobs are abundant- my current boss said she received over 300 applications for 5 positions she was filling- but jobs are out there. People still move. People still quit for whatever reasons. Even in a recession.
