And laundry at Waters & Washington. And Curry's Cleaners on Derenne. Are they safe to go?

44th and Reynolds will be fairly convenient to Memorial. You can bike it but it would be better to drive. Traffic can get bad along Reynolds. It's about 20 blocks. It's mostly a residential area with a lot of medical practice buildings. Just bike South on Reynolds until you get to about 63rd. Go East to Memorial. If you drive, turn East at Columbus, then South on Waters. Memorial will be on your left.

The cleaners on Derenne is in a good area and I really can't place exactly where a laundry is on Waters. I do know there is a very nice Episcopal Church at the corner of Waters and Washington. It's a residential area except on Waters. That's commercial.

Thank you for your quick reply! Is the whole area safe? I might need to work 6am in the morning or late at night. And I'm a girl. Thank you.

Safe? I would say so. It's an older section of town. Lots of nice older homes. It's probably going to be hot and muggy even at 6, so you would be wet with sweat if you biked in.. Will you have a car? Memorial has a huge parking lot. Late at night is chancey no matter where you are. With a car, there wouldn't be any worry.

This time of year we have a lot of pop-up thundershowers. You wouldn't want to get soaked either coming or going.

I used to use the laundry at Washington and Waters years ago. It was alright. Not great, not terrible.

The neighborhoods east of Waters (1100 block and up) from 52nd St. out to the area surrounding Memorial are not very safe. Keep your explorations limited to the west side of Waters. You should be fine running out Reynolds St. to get to work, though late hours increase your chances of having a problem.

I would drive....although the area has very nice homes...I personally have known a few people that have been robbed in front of there homes on E 44th..near Reynolds. You may also find yourself in the wrong neighborhood very quick when riding around anywhere in the city. Be on your guard at all times in this city.
