...was the reply (3 years ago) from the visitors bureau of Savannah when asked about weather conditions in August. Unfortunately, that was the only available time for our family to visit, and yes, when we toured Savannah we almost died We were staying on Tybee so the water and frequent showering kept us cool enough to enjoy our visit. We are returning in mid-October this year, and will again stay on Tybee, but plan to visit Savannah on several day trips. Please tell me you have nice weather in October

let's just say it's much cooler than in August. However, sometimes we do have a really hot day. And then, there may the lousey weather that goes with nearby hurricanes. It might even be a little chilly in the water at Tybee. Your guess is as good as anyone's this year!

Savannah is for the Springtime visit. Fall Season is next best. Come and enjoy!

Compared to August, October will be sublime. Though days may still be warm compared to Indiana, humidty will be low and nights cool. You will love it!
