Oh dear!!! Don't give up on us yet! Please try to come and visit!!

But you are indeed, wise, to think about such things. If your husband got a position in a non-air conditioned facility, he could be miserable. Everyone has hot days sometimes. Our record for over 90 degree days is 114 days. And you can bet that the humidity made many of them over 100 on the heat index scale. It doesn't cool off at night either. Wonderful winters and out-of-this-world Springs.

But, even with that heat problem, Savannah is a great place to live. It's not The Paradise On Earth, but it's a lot better than many places. There's not another place that would even come close to making me happier. This is HOME!

Like Padgett said, come visit and see how you feel about the area. Summer doesn't last all year long and IMO it is worth putting up with for that wonderful spring & fall weather. If you don't like the cold, Savannah doesn't have much of that either, though it CAN and does happen (particularly during January & February). It's all relative though. Coldest averages are 58 during the day and 38 at night. All time record low is 3 above (though usually at its coldest won't get below 16). All time record high is 105.
