By the way, the new Dairy Queen is nice inside. They did a good job with it.
I think you meant Longhorn Resturant.

Pooler might be clearing the area for the intersection upgrade for the Effingham Parkway.

That would be MOST excellent Ellie! I love Ele, and would very much support another restaurant by the same owners. I believe they own another restaurant in Savannah as well, but the name escapes me at the moment...

Tangerine, and there might be a third.

I think they also own Saigon, or a member of their family does. Good stuff.

You all should contact them and make a request.

Ellie, you don't consider Carey Hilliards and Spankys real restaurants? At least Pooler has a couple of chains that are nowhere else in Savannah -- Ratz and Cheddars, and isn't there some upscale steak place over by the airport hotels? ELE is nice and all, but I'd trade it to Pooler to get more restaurants and retail out here on the islands. Uncle Bubba's and Appleby's don't count. I'm jealous that people in West Chatham don't have to go to the Southside to shop at Lowe's or Super Walmart, or eat at Longhorn or Ruby Tuesday, or go bowling and see a movie! Those theatres in Pooler are nice -- and the new IMAX is gonna be huge!

Well, I do have a soft spot for Hilliards, though I rarely eat there anymore. It's a Savannah institution. Those other chains are just not that good. Occasionally we'll try one and leave wondering how and why they are so popular. Yuck.

Besides, on the islands you have two Publix grocery stores, the mini-Wally, which is much more pleasant than the Super; the Ace hardware, and a number of non-chain restaurants that are pretty good. Lowes is fine. Sometimes I get on I-16 just to go to the one in Pooler. Better than Southside traffic.
