Ellie, you don't consider Carey Hilliards and Spankys real restaurants?
At least Pooler has a couple of chains that are nowhere else in Savannah -- Ratz and Cheddars, and isn't there some upscale steak place over by the airport hotels? ELE is nice and all, but I'd trade it to Pooler to get more restaurants and retail out here on the islands. Uncle Bubba's and Appleby's don't count. I'm jealous that people in West Chatham don't have to go to the Southside to shop at Lowe's or Super Walmart, or eat at Longhorn or Ruby Tuesday, or go bowling and see a movie! Those theatres in Pooler are nice -- and the new IMAX is gonna be huge!

Well, I do have a soft spot for Hilliards, though I rarely eat there anymore. It's a Savannah institution. Those other chains are just not that good. Occasionally we'll try one and leave wondering how and why they are so popular. Yuck.
